Special Guest Poet Yusef Komunyakaa will deliver the Thomas Lux Memorial Reading. You won’t want to miss one word of his brilliant poems infused with his distinctive voice, a performance and presence impossible to diminish, even in the virtual world. Poet Laure-Anne Bosselaar will introduce the distinguished poet, whose new collection, Everyday Mojo Songs of Earth, New and Selected Poems 2001-2021, was released in June by Farrar, Straus and Giroux.
“This dazzling collection makes a definitive case for the Pulitzer Prize–winning Komunyakaa as a monumental and singular American voice,” according to Publishers Weekly. “A jazzy master of enjambment and arresting opening lines, Komunyakaa synthesizes natural history, myth, and wide-ranging intellectual curiosity into sensory acts of witness.”
Virtual book signings will follow the reading in Murder On The Beach, our Festival Virtual Bookstore. Tickets will be available for purchase soon on our website.
