For those coming in from out of town, please note that January is the height of the vacation season in Delray Beach. We suggest you reserve a hotel room and car as soon as possible.

Arrangements are confirmed with the following hotels for a block of rooms held for the Palm Beach Poetry Festival at special group rates for the period January 19 check in until January 24, 2009 check-out. To reserve a room at the festival’s special per-night rate, call the hotel, mention the Palm Beach Poetry Festival special event rate, and secure a reservation by credit card before December 19, 2008. After that date, special rates will no longer apply, and remaining rooms in the block will be made available for public sale and may no longer be available at that time.

We urge all workshop applicants to make reservations at the time you apply. Should you not be admitted to a workshop of your choice, you may cancel your reservation without penalty. If you wait until notification in November, room blocks may be sold out to other workshop participants.

This rate may be extended beyond date above before or after the event by revisions to this signed agreement only.

RESERVATIONS
Individuals make their own reservations by calling RESERVATIONS @ 561-276-4123 or 1-800-552-2363 with the group name. A one night advance deposit confirms each reservation. Individuals are responsible for full payment of their total stay at check-in. There is a minimum of two nights stay for this discounted rate. This rate may be extended beyond date above before or after event by revisions to this signed agreement only.

Cancellation Policy:  Individuals must contact The Colony 72 hours prior to arrival date or forfeit one night’s deposit plus tax. Applicants will have until January 18th to cancel room reservations without forfeit of deposit.  To ensure group rate, please book by December 19, 2008. Any unused rooms in the block will be released.

Reservations can be made by calling 1-866-258-7257. Guests must ask for the Palm Beach Poetry Festival special event group room rate. All reservations must be made prior to the cut off date of 12/21/2007.

Hotel will require a credit card guarantee when making reservations. Group reservations not cancelled in accordance with the hotel seven day advance cancellation policy will be charged one night room and tax. The above non-commissionable rates are based on single/double occupancy and apply to the designated room types only and are exclusive of sales tax currently at 10.5%. Upgrades will be issued upon request on a space available basis only and an additional charge will apply. Each additional person over the age of 13, in a room or suite is a $10.00 additional charge, as is a request for a rollaway or sofa bed.

Check in is at 4:00 PM and check out is by 11:00 AM. Early check in and late check out will be accommodated on a space available basis only and will be subject to an additional charge. The Residence Inn is located a block from the beach and about a twenty minute walk from Old School Square. Each room has its own balcony, full kitchen facilities and complimentary high-speed internet access.

Room Descriptions and Rates:

(1) Cabanas: Queen bedroom for 2; kitchenette. $179 per night + tax.
(2) Beach House Rooms: Queen bedroom for 2, full kitchen $199 per night + tax.
(7) One Bedroom Suites: King  or Queen Bedroom sleeps 2; living rm sleeps 2; full kitchen $239 per night + tax.

All rates subject to 11.5% Room Tax. Experience lush gardens, tropical inspired rooms, two warm saline pools with waterfall and a Tiki Bar with live music every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  All rooms equipped with DSL internet access and daily continental breakfast served from 9 am-11am. When making your reservation, please use the Group ID: PBPF.

Cancellation Policy: A deposit of 50% of the total booking, plus tax, is required to hold a reservation at time of booking. Therefore notice is required in order to receive full refund of a deposit. Cancellation notice must be made 14 days prior to arrival. Reservations cancelled within 14 days receive a refund of 75%. The remaining 25% of the stay will be non-refundable. Crane’s Beach House Hotel & Tiki Bar is about five minutes from the beach and a fifteen minute walk from Old School Square. To ensure group rate reservations must be made prior to December 18, 2008. Based on availability and restrictions apply, 10 discounted rooms blocked in total.

WRIGHT BY THE SEA (first time festival room block in 2009)

The festival has arranged for five 1 bedroom suites at a special festival rate of $249 /night.  Suites have a bedroom with two beds and a living room area and fold out couch.  Reservations must be made by December 19, 2008.  Suites may be shared by participants, but each will be responsible for the cost of their own room.  The hotel web address is:  www.wbtsea.com.

Room Rentals are subject to state tax and a Tourist Development Tax.  Cancellation Policy - 30 days notice for refund.  No pets & no smoking in rooms. Check In about 2:00 P.M.; Check Out 11:00 A.M. Wright by the Sea is a short drive  from the festival location at Olds School Square.
 
TRANSPORTATION

Transportation: To and from PBI Airport 800-258-3826 www.SuperShuttle.com We have made arrangements with The Super Shuttle for transportation to and from Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) to your hotel on Delray Beach for $16 per passenger each way. Just mention the festival to the shuttle representative at the Super Shuttle kiosk within the airport to receive your discounted rate.
